The Road to Happiness

Hey guys! It’s been WAY too long. I’m ashamed to say my last post was in October of 2014. The goods news is that “According to JJ” has been revamped and I’m ready to get back to writing. So here goes….

It took me forever to decide on a topic for this post. I had so many ideas, so many things to say, yet my mind was completely BLANK. Finally I came up with “The Road to Happiness” …. We all have daily struggles, fall down, steer away, whatever. It’s LIFE. S**t happens! The important thing is to remember how to get back on track! This is my short and simple list of things that I do to get my “Positive Vibes Only” mindset going.

*Of course I wanted to share it with you guys*

So how can you get on the road to happiness??

1.Do things for yourself.

It’s ok to be a little selfish. Sometimes you have to put yourself first. It really is a true statement that you have to be able to make yourself happy, before anyone else can. So figure out some things you like to do and do them for yourself. For me, getting a mani/pedi always makes me happy! Anything that makes me look good always makes me feel good too!

2.Work on having a closer relationship with God

I’m not here to preach to you all. But once you invite God into your life, you will be amazed at all of the wonderful things he can and WILL do. This one is self-explanatory so i’ll move on to the next one.

3.Don’t compare your life to others

Duh. I am not you, you are not me, we are not them, they are not us. So why are we comparing? True, it’s hard NOT to do but how can we focus on our own lives when we are so concerned with others? WE CAN’T! Everyone has their own time and their own season. So be patient. We are on the outside looking in and we only see what people show anyway. Don’t waste of time and energy, or cause yourself to be sad, jealous, or discouraged by comparing your life to those around you.

4. Count your blessings, not your problem

If all you do is focus on the bad, you really should expect nothing more. I am always joyful when I think about the many blessings I’ve had in my life. I am even more joyful when I think about the blessings that are coming my way! You will never be happy thinking about all the wrong. Put more energy towards the things that are going right in your life and that will promote a more optimistic mindset.

5. Let GO

This is simple. Leave the past in the past. You can’t move forward and be happy if you are still holding on to “baggage”. Learn how to close doors and once they are shut, lock them and throw away the key.

6. Do things for other

It makes me happy and puts a smile on my face when I do things for others. It doesn’t have to be anything big.

7. Music

It’s no surprise that music can effect our emotions. So whenever you are feeling down and need a mood changer, turn on some happy tunes. Y’all know twerking/turn up songs make us feel good haha Stay away from Adele though! lol

With 2016 only A FEW DAYS AWAY, leave all of your worries in 2015.
